Hartford Baking Company’s banana chocolate chip muffins, coffee cakes and sourdough loaves will soon be available in Farmington as the bakery plans a third location at 767 Farmington Ave.
The new location, formerly occupied by Truffles Bakery and Kitchen, is slated to open on Sept. 1. Truffles closed down last month after more than 20 years in business.
“We are thrilled that we are going to be able to continue the tradition of having a bakery at this location in Farmington Village,” said Hartford Baking Company President Scott Kluger.
Hartford Baking Company currently operates bakery-cafes in West Hartford Center and Glastonbury and a commissary in Bloomfield that supplies bread to the cafes.
The bakery opened for business in 2010 and currently employs 50 people and delivers products to restaurants and grocery stores statewide.
