West Hartford’s Hartford Baking Co. says it will open a third area cafe in January in Glastonbury, and it’s eyeing other potential locations in the Farmington Valley and downstate.
The new 2,100-square-foot cafe serving freshmade sandwiches and baked goods will be at 400 Hebron Ave., joining the West Hartford venues at 625 New Park Ave. and 935 Farmington Ave.
Hartford Baking, which debuted in 2010 and now counts more than 50 employees, also operates a central commissary in Bloomfield that bakes bread nightly and prepares some of the menu items served in its cafes, said President Scott Kluger.
A public preview of the new store will be featured at this fall’s Glastonbury Apple Festival on Oct. 18, Kluger said.
Meantime, Hartford Baking is scouring Avon, Farmington and Fairfield County for future cafe sites, the president said.
