Hartford area home sales rebounded in November but median prices remained in the cellar, new housing sales data shows.
There were 590 sales of existing single-family dwellings last month, up 7.3 percent from November 2010, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Monday. October sales were flat compared to a year earlier
November median sale prices fell 11.1 percent to $207,000 vs. $239,950 a year earlier.
Pending sales, however, plummeted 17 percent last month to 495 dwellings under contract, down from 596 a year ago, the GHAR said.
Condominium sales dropped 8 percent to 138 units in November from 150 a year ago. Their median sale price slipped 3.5 percent last month to $223,000 vs. $231,000 a year earlier.
