Hartford area posted strong gains in sales and single-family median prices in February, Realtors say.
There were 613 single-family dwellings sold last month vs. 494 sold the same month in 2014 – a 24 percent gain, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Tuesday.
Condo sales, too, climbed in February, up 21 percent to 151 units sold vs. 125 a year earlier, the association said.
In another encouraging sign for the local housing market, new listings for both single-families and condos grew in February, along with the numbers of units of both types under contract but not yet closed.
Median price for a house sold in February was $192,000, 4 percent higher than the $188,250 median set the same month last year.
However, the median condo price fell 2 percent last month to $127,500 from $130,000 in February a year ago.
