The apparent recovery in the Hartford area housing market was unabated in June, with actual and pending sales of single-family dwellings gaining, realty authorities say.
Closed sales of houses rose 7.8 percent last month to 954 units from 885 units sold in June 2011, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
Pending sales also rose 17.4 percent to 997 units from 849 in the same period.
New listings fell 15.7 percent to 1,503 from 1,783, while the average days a home spent on the market increased 5.56 percent during the same one year timeframe.
“The decrease in housing inventory doesn’t appear to be slowing sales,” GHAR President and CEO Jeff Arakelian said in a statement.
The single-family median sale price fell to $234,250 from $240,000.
June area condo sales rose 14 percent to 212 units vs. 186 units sold in June 2011.
But their median sale price dropped 10.4 percent from $170,000 to $152,250 and the average days on market dropped from 101 to 94 days.
