Hartford area home sales fell in April amid a rising inventory of unsold dwellings and an ease in prices, brokers say.
Single-family house sales fell 3.7 percent last month to 669 units vs. 695 sold the same month a year ago, according to the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
Dwellings unsold for 30 days for more climbed 11 percent to 7,102 units, while new listings jumped 9 percent to 2,195, the group said.
The median sale price dropped 4.6 percent to $205,000 last month from $214,900 a year ago.
Condo sales fell 4.5 percent to 171 units, with median price declining 3.9 percent to $150,950.
