Spectra Venue Management is hiring more than 150 new part-time employees to work events at the XL Center, Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, and Hartford Wolf Pack games, as Hartford area venues prepare for a broader reopening this fall, according to Spectra.Â
Available positions vary from supervisory positions, to concession workers and building security.Â
Two job fairs will be held in the upcoming weeks.Â
On Wednesday, August 18, from 11-3 p.m, Spectra will be interviewing for several positions on-site at Pratt and Whitney Stadium, 615 Silver Lane, East Hartford.Â
On Thursday, September 2, from 3-7 p.m, Spectra will be interviewing for several positions on-site at the XL Center at 1 Civic Center Plaza, Hartford.Â
The job fairs come as many industries, particularly those with low-wage workers, have dealt with job shortages coming out of the pandemic.
Meantime, Hartford area events venues have seen limited to no activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, a long dormancy period that could make it even more difficult to bring back workers.Â
Â
Pratt and Whitney Stadium was used for about six months this year for food drives, a drive-thru COVID-19 testing center, and a vaccination clinic, company spokeswoman Jenny Dervin said.Â
Hartford Wolfpack has held some games at the XL Center, however public attendance was not permitted.
The season opener for the Wolf Pack is Oct. 15.
