September area house and condominium sales gained speed but their prices were mixed, brokers say.
Single-family house sales last month were 892, up 9.5 percent from 815 sold in September 2013, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Monday.
The median home’s sale price rose less than 1 percent, to $220,000 last month from $218,000 a year ago, GHAR said.
Through the first nine months of this year, closed sales are up only 1.43 percent to 7,399 units vs. 7,297 units sold the first nine months of 2013.
Condo sales rose 9.8 percent last month to 224 sold vs. 204 a year ago. The median condo sale price fell 1.72 percent to $142,500 from $145,000.
