Hartford area companies give back to local nonprofits

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut mobilized more than 600 volunteers as a part of its Year of Caring initiative, which connected local workplaces and their employees with various nonprofit and charitable organizations. UWCNCT dispatched volunteers from each company to nearly 40 service projects, including reading projects at Hartford’s Women’s League Child Development Center, food reclamation projects at Foodshare and renovation work at HARC Inc. Corporate partners included Aetna, Day Pitney LLP, Travelers, Limra, United Healthcare and Voya. Pictured in the photo above are Travelers employees working at Foodshare’s regional farmer’s market.
