Hartford 14th most affordable CT city for car buying

The city of Hartford is ranked the 14th most affordable city in Connecticut for buying used cars, according to a survey by Autolist.com.

The analysis covers eight counties and 142 cities in Connecticut, based on 118,000 listings.

Despite that assessment from the automobile website’s analysis, the city of Hartford is $87 more expensive on average than other cities in Connecticut.

Nationally, Hartford is the 310th most affordable city in the U.S. with cars costing $17 less than cars in other U.S. cities, the analysis found.

Hartford County is ranked the fourth most affordable county. Across Connecticut, New Haven County is ranked most affordable and Tolland County the least affordable. By city, Waterbury is ranked most affordable, followed by Stamford and Shelton.

Connecticut also ranks as the seventh most affordable state in the country, with cars $430 less expensive than cars in other states, the survey found.
