The Connecticut Science Center celebrates its first anniversary Saturday, a milestone that has seen more than 370,000 visitors to the downtown Hartford attraction in its inaugural 12 months.
To commemorate, the center is offering all day Saturday half-price admission to its exhibits that include a digital theater and café.
“Our first anniversary is a marvelous milestone for Connecticut and for all of those who have devoted their vision, energy and resources to making this possible,” said Science Center President and CEO Matt Fleury.
More than 85,000 students visited through organized school field trips, representing every Connecticut school district as well as schools from Boston, New York City, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and the Albany region.
The center’s outreach to under-served communities includes more than 8,000 Hartford school children who have visited free of charge via donor grants.
In addition, more than 9,000 memberships have been sold, Fleury said.
