Hamden warehouse sold for $1.6 million

The owner of a New York window and door company has bought a warehouse at 299 Welton St., in Hamden, for $1.6 million.

Andrew Sokolik bought the property from co-owner Betram Frankenberger Jr., and 299 Welton LLC principal Wendy Goldstein, in a deal recorded June 27.

Sokolik is principal of Yonkers, N.Y.-based Empire Energy Specialists, Inc., which installs windows and doors for commercial properties.

The 30,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Hamden, built in 1953, sits on 1.8 acres and is home to the Chargar Corporation, which makes masonry sealants and coatings, industrial cleaners and degreasers, according to its website.

The property has a total appraised value of $825,000.
