A 19,000-square-foot, three-story office building in Hamden has sold for $817,500, and the new owner plans to use it for a state-of-the-art laboratory.
The property is at 35 Worth Ave., on a 0.86 parcel at the corner of Whitney Avenue.Â
Will Braun of O,R&L Commercial in Branford, represented the seller, AAA Northeast Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. Braun also procured the buyer, NorthEast BioLab Inc., with the assistance of Franklin T. Renz of O,R&L’s construction division.

AAA Northeast, headquartered in Rhode Island, had used the building for its regional corporate offices. The organization has millions of members and provides automotive and financial services, and insurance and travel products.
The new owner, NorthEast BioLab, based on Sherman Avenue in Hamden, was founded in 2003 by former Bayer scientists. It provides a range of laboratory services, such as toxicology and immunogenicity testing.
