Despite a new sign and banners adorning a former Allyn Street nightclub in downtown Hartford, there are no plans to open the “Rooty Tooty,” at least not to the public.
The former NV Nightclub at 179 Allyn St. has been spruced up to serve as a shooting location for a holiday movie “Ghost of Christmas Always,” according to a crew member.
Allyn Street closed to curbside parking this week as video production vans and trucks clustered around the brick building at 179 Allyn St.
The Hallmark movie has also shot scenes in West Hartford and at the carousel in Bushnell Park.
The film will be a new take on the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol,” according to published reports.
