An assisted living and retirement community located off Route 154 in Haddam said it has broken ground on a 23-unit expansion.
The Saybrook at Haddam, which also offers memory care services, said the 15,000-square-foot addition will grow the community by more than 25 percent, to 105 living units.
The project, which is expected to be complete by spring 2015, also includes common areas and a courtyard.
