Norwood, Massachusetts-based geotechnical and environmental engineering firm GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. has acquired Ecosystem Consulting Service of Coventry.
In a statement, the new partners said ECS President Robert W. Kortmann will become a senior consultant at GZA. ECS will “initially operate” from its current location in Coventry as a division of GZA, they said.
A purchase price was not disclosed.
“My colleagues at ECS and I are excited to join GZA, a firm we’ve worked closely with on client projects for decades and deeply respect, and to bring our research, consulting, and implementation capabilities to GZA clients throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes regions and beyond,’’ Kortmann said in a statement.
Ecosystem Consulting Service develops solutions for water treatment and management, including preventing algal blooms, controlling invasive plant and animal species, and resolving water safety and quality issues.
GZA has more than 700 employees based at 30 offices in the Northeast and Midwest.
Last year, the company spun off New England Bioassay, a wastewater-toxicity testing laboratory in Manchester.
