Neuroradiologist Dr. Edmond Knopp has joined Hyperfine Research Inc. of Guilford as its senior medical director.
Knopp has nearly three decades of clinical care and research experience in radiology, neuroradiology and magnetic resonance imaging.
In his new role, Knopp will help establish a Clinical Center of Excellence, develop the company’s clinical and medical strategies, and will serve as its representative to the clinical community on a global scale.
Knopp’s background will support the company’s efforts to understand issues facing the healthcare community and influence product development aimed at improving patient care.
“His expertise regarding the clinical issues facing the global healthcare delivery community is a tremendous addition,” said the company’s Chief Medical Officer and Chief Technology Officer Khan Siddiqui.
Knopp said he looks forward to working with the team and clinicians to “accelerate Hyperfine’s mission of democratizing medical imaging.”
Knopp has also served on the faculty at the New York University School of Medicine for more than 20 years.
Hyperfine Research aims to make MRIs available to all. The Swoop Portable MR Imaging System can be deployed to patients’ bedsides, allowing health care providers to more quickly and easily reach a diagnosis.
