Guida’s re-expanding its New Britain dairy

Guida’s Milk & Ice Cream company in New Britain is scheduled to break ground Thursday afternoon on another expansion of its Park Street dairy-processing plant.

The new project is a two-level processing plant addition to the existing facility at 433 Park St.  The 25,000-square-foot addition will allow for consolidation of off-premise operations into the plant. 

President Mike Guida said the new building will reduce traffic and provide more space for increased production and distribution. 

Work will start in the coming weeks, with completion set for later this year.

The addition marks the second time in the past 12 years that Guida’s has enlarged its New Britain facility.

In 1999, the dairy added a large state-of-the-art cooler, pasteurizing room and laboratory.
