Newington’s Truss Manufacturing Inc. plans to move to a larger facility in town in response to recent growth, a company owner said.
Truss Manufacturing, which builds roof trusses, plans to relocate from its current 10,000-square-foot facility at 97 Stanwell Road to a similarly sized building on Fenn Road, where it will also construct a 3,000-square-foot addition.
“We’re moving to a bigger and better place,” said Mario Giguere, a partner in the business. “We outgrew this place, we’re getting bigger, we’re getting more work so we need to expand.”
The company, which employs 18 people, has seen more work recently and needs additional space to store extra material. The company builds roof trusses for residential and commercial buildings.
Truss Manufacturing has occupied its current Stanwell Road location since 1984. In May 2018, the company purchased the 135 Fenn Road property for $850,000, town records show, and it’s now seeking town permission to add 3,000 square feet to that location.
Giguere said he hopes the addition will be complete, and the company moved into the new location by the spring.
