A proposal to build a two-story, five-unit apartment building at 68 Royal Ave., in Fairfield has received the green light.
The town’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday night unanimously approved a plan by Fairfield developer Peter Stofa & Co. to construct the building on a 0.34-acre parcel.
All five units will have three bedrooms, and one unit will be deemed affordable housing, according to the application.
Each unit will have a one-car garage and an outdoor parking space.
The developer bought the property, which was previously occupied by a 684-square-foot, one-story house and is 140 feet away from tidal wetlands, in January for $382,000, according to property records.
The property was appraised at $263,800 and assessed at $184,660 in 2024.
