Groton’s KMK gets $2.4M boiler contract

KMK Construction in Groton has gotten a $2.4 million contract to build a replacement boiler at the Naval Submarine Base New London, authorities say.

KMK has pledged to use local subcontractors for the job, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s office says.

There are nearly $90 million worth of federally funded military construction projects underway at the sub base, the governor says.

The base accounts for about 15,000 jobs and contributes $4.5 billion annually to Connecticut’s economy.
