ALDI supermarkets will host a trio of hiring fairs next week in Middletown, Enfield and Waterbury to attract store manager trainees earning at least $25 an hour to its growing lineup of Connecticut and New England groceries, the retailer says.
Fairs are scheduled Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at its store at 671 Washington St. in Middletown; Wednesday at 25 Hazard Ave. in Enfield; and Thursday at 464 Reidville Drive in Waterbury.
ALDI U.S. said in a statement it needs at least 30 manager trainees for its New England stores, including 21 stores in Connecticut, plus future locations, including one in Derby. The chain didn’t elaborate on its Derby plans.
Each ALDI store has about 10 employees, including a manager and several assistants, a spokeswoman said.
Although trainees start at $25 an hour, they have the opportunity to average $80,000 in salary within a year, the grocer said. They also collect full health insurance, dental coverage and a 401(k).
Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift at least 45 pounds, among other requirements, the chain said.
ALDI supplies its Connecticut stores from a distribution facility in South Windsor.
ALDI U.S. is independently managed and operated by Hofer KG, a unit of privately held ALDI Sud.
