Greenwich private investment firm Starwood Energy on Monday announced it plays to finance, construct, own and operate a $300 million transmission line to reinforce the electrical interconnection between California and Arizona.
Starwood is partnering with Spanish energy technology firm Abengoa to build and maintain the 114-mile transmission line between the Delaney and Colorado River substations in California.
The duo were a one of several bidders hoping to be awarded the project and were picked by the California Independent System Operator to do the job.
The project is expected to be complete in 2020.
