The Connecticut Greenways Council and Middlesex Community College will host a symposium later this month aimed at educating public officials and others about development of recreational trails and greenways.
A panel of experts will speak at the Oct. 20 event at the Middletown college about the benefits of greenways and how to handle potential hurdles to their development, including funding and liability.
More information about the agenda and registration are available here.
The Greenways Council, created in 1995, advises government and residents of planning and funding greenway projects. Connecticut has nearly 70 official greenways, defined as an open space corridor related to a natural area. A full list can be seen here.
