Gov. Dannel Malloy this week signed legislation creating fueling station standards for electric, zero-emission and fuel-cell electric vehicles.
House Bill 5510 requires owners of publicly available charging stations to register with the Department of Motor Vehicles for a $50 annual fee – a provision that green-care advocates protested – and accommodate multiple payment options, like gas stations.
The DMV would also be required to track and publish data on the number of electric vehicles registered in the state.
