The Connecticut Green Bank on Tuesday announced the promotion of Genevieve Sherman to director of its commercial and industrial programs.
In this role, Sherman will oversee the nationally recognized C-PACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy) program, which provides business property owners with access to low-cost capital for energy improvement projects at no upfront costs.
Sherman also will lead the Green Bank’s microgrid financing projects, developing ways for small critical areas to become independent of the power grid.
The Green Bank, formerly known as the Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority, was established in 2011 as a quasi-public agency tasked with facilitating private investment in the clean energy industry by using public funding.
Sherman joined the Green Bank in 2012 to help implement the C-PACE program, which has approved $65 million in financing for more than 90 projects. It is the fastest growing PACE program in the nation.
