Homebuyers closed on 28 percent more dwellings in the Greater Hartford market in December than a year ago, with the pipeline of pending sales continuing to gain momentum, realty authorities say. Home prices, however, continue to be soft.
Closed sales of single family homes increased to 696 units last month from 547 in December 2011, according to the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
December marked the 10th consecutive month of rising homes sales, GHAR President and CEO Jeff Arakelian said Friday.
The median sale price fell 1.17 percent to $209,900 from $207,450.
Area condo sales increased 9.22 percent from December of last year. Median condo sale prices increased by about 1 percent to $150,000.
