Greater Hartford home cash sales declining

Cash sales are declining as a percentage of overall real estate sales in the Hartford metro area, falling well below the national average.

CoreLogic, which tracks real estate figures nationally, said all-cash deals accounted for 24.2 percent of home sales in October in Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, a 6.9 percentage point decrease from a year earlier. The cash sales share in Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford was lower than the 33.9 percent national rate.

The Hartford area is also lower than the state’s rate of 29 percent.

Alabama had the largest cash sales share of any state at 51.7 percent, followed by Florida (46.7 percent), New York (46.3 percent), West Virginia (44.4 percent) and Indiana (40.8 percent). Syracuse, N.Y., had the lowest cash sales rate of a metropolitan area at 13.9 percent.
