GRANT AIDS PROJECT OPENING DOORS

The Northeast Utilities Foundation has awarded a three-year, $175,000 grant to support Project Opening Doors, a statewide program to improve Advanced Placement participation and scores among low-income and minority students. The program is already responsible for double-digit increases in qualifying scores in math, science and English. The grant will provide program funding for high schools in Windham, Waterbury, New Britain and New London. Pictured are, from left, J.A.
