Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has called the General Assembly into special session this Tuesday, Dec. 8. Its purpose is to deal with an expected $350 million deficit in the current fiscal year state budget.
Malloy has charged the legislature with making modifications to the following taxes, credits, and exemptions:
- Corporation tax net operating loss provisions
- Unitary combined reporting
- Energy Star sales tax exemption
- Personal income tax short term exemption
- Propane tax on fuel for residential generators
- Apprenticeship tax credit
- Corporate tax credit caps
- Structural optional municipal mill rate adjustment
The governor said in spite of still unresolved differences between Democrats and Republicans he thinks there is enough agreement to reach some kind of consensus by Tuesday.
