Gov. contract roundup: Sikorsky won three defense contracts this week totaling $547M

One of Connecticut’s largest aerospace and defense companies won three contracts from the U.S. military this week, according to information from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Sikorsky, the Lockheed Martin Co. subsidiary based in Stratford that makes helicopters, secured a contract from the Army and two from the Navy, totalling more than $547 million.

Here’s how the contracts break down:

On Dec. 12, Sikorsky was awarded a $442.9 million modification to an existing contract with the army for its Black Hawk helicopter program. The same day, Sikorsky was awarded a not-to-exceed $48.3 million firm-fixed-price, undefinitized contract from the Navy for the redesign of a “form, fit, and functional replacement of the CH-53K Inertial Measurement Unit.” Work for both contracts, which will be performed in Stratford, is expected to be completed by June 2027.

On Dec. 13, the Navy awarded Sikorsky another contract modification of $56.9 million that increases the contract ceiling for “integrated logistics support, sustainment engineering, spares procurement, materials management, component overhaul, and training activities in support of sustainment efforts for the VH-92A helicopter.” Most work for this contract will be performed in Stratford.
