Goodwin University sells downtown East Hartford properties for $1.3M

Goodwin University recently sold three downtown East Hartford properties, including one hosting a classroom and office building, for $1.3 million.

The university sold 1137 Main St., 1125 Main St. and 16 Orchard St. to Bailey’s Real Estate LLP on July 26, according to the filed deed.

The deed records three properties but the town’s assessing office doesn’t have a separate listing for 1125 Main St. Staff believe it is merged with 1137 Main St.

The 1.1-acre property at 1137 Main St. hosts a brick office building used for classroom space and offices. It was built in 1949 and renovated in 2005, according to city records. A 7,060-square-foot, brick manufacturing building built in 1900 sits on the rear of the lot.

Orchard Street runs along the north side of the property. On the opposite side, 16 Orchard St. is a 1.2-acre property dominated by parking with a 1,040-square-foot storage building.

In the deed, Bailey’s Real Estate LLP lists a Canton, Connecticut address. The CEO of the company is Trisha Bailey, according to documents filed with the Secretary of the State’s office. Bailey, as agent of the company, lists 1137 Main St. in East Hartford as her business address.

Attempts to reach Bailey were not immediately successful.
