Goodwin College will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Goodwin College Early Childhood Magnet School at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 in East Hartford.
Svigals + Partners of New Haven designed the school based on the Reggio Emilia approach to education, which focuses on student participation in education and considers the school building the third educator after teachers and parents.
The 34,000-square-foot building will feature four classroom pods around a central gathering space. The school will serve 240 pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.
The ceremony will take place on the former Willowbrook School property across from Riverside Drive.
