GoNetspeed is expanding its fiber internet service in four Connecticut towns over the next several months, the company announced.
GoNetspeed, a Alabama-headquartered fiber internet company that’s been expanding in Connecticut over the last several years, has begun construction in Thomaston and expanded its network in Glastonbury, Vernon and Watertown, company officials announced this week.
The first business and residential customers in Thomaston will be eligible for service installation this winter, GoNetspeed said. The $1.4 million investment in the town will offer service to more than 1,800 homes and businesses, the company said.
Meantime, construction has also begun in Glastonbury, Vernon and Watertown to expand GoNetspeed’s existing service network in those towns. Company officials said the project in those towns will add 1,700 eligible businesses or homes to the service area and be completed by the end of this year. New customers can begin scheduling service installations this fall and winter, the company said.
More than 30 municipalities in Connecticut have access to GoNetspeed, with several more in the works.
