Oxford fuel and water firm Go Green Global Technologies has sold its sonical device to a Puerto Rican waste hauler in order to cut back on fuel usage in its trucks.
Camioneros Cooperativa de Transporte of Puerto Rico will install the devices into its fleet of more than 100 trucks. The sonical technology uses sound waves to make engines more fuel efficient, improving fuel economy more than 10 percent.
The installed cost of the devices will be $2,000, and the waste hauler expects to break even after eight months of fuel savings.
The purchase comes after Camioneros Cooperativa de Transporte of Puerto Rico tested the devices for six weeks, checking the fuel savings and the impact of the air quality on the island.
