Global staffing agency to debut Hartford office

An international staffing agency based in Ireland says it’s launching a new office in Hartford.

Mackin Talent, which already has nine U.S. locations, on Monday announced it’s breaking into the Capital City to expand its talent sourcing and recruitment footprint in the Northeast.

The Hartford location will mark Mackin’s 14th office. It’s not yet clear when and where Mackin will operate in Hartford, or how many people the office will employ.

Mackin officials in a statement said the company is landing in Hartford as Connecticut begins to recover from massive job losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

They also cited Aer Lingus’ direct flight from Dublin to Bradley International Airport as one of “many growing economic development links between Connecticut and Ireland.”

“Our number one company mission and value is Relationships Matter and we believe strongly in being physically near our clients and working with them in person as much as possible,” Mackin CEO Andy Mackin said in a statement.

Mackin says it’s talent management offerings support various industries, including technology, bioscience and insurance/financial services, which is a major employment sector in Connecticut.

Mackin says it has doubled in size annually since its founding in 2014. It also has offices in North Carolina, California, Ireland, United Kingdom, China and Canada.

“All of our growth has been based on the relationships we built with our clients. Word-of-mouth, client referrals are the best and most important to have,” Mackin added.
