The Shops at Somerset Square in Glastonbury, which was purchased by a Tennessee-based real estate development company a few years ago for $30.1 million, announced it has landed two new restaurants and an infrared fitness studio.
The outdoor lifestyle shopping center’s newest tenant will be Tiger Belly Noodle Bar, which specializes in Japanese Ramen and Vietnamese Pho. The restaurant is led by chef Kiyen Keung and will also include a sushi bar.
Construction on the restaurant site has begun. It will be the second Tiger Belly location to open; the first debuted in Granby in 2016, according to Michele Aponte, general manager at The Shops at Somerset Square.
Meanwhile, Bareburger recently opened a 2,309-square-foot, fast-casual restaurant next to Chipotle, and just completed a patio renovation to include outdoor dining.
Bareburger is an East Coast-based restaurant group offering burgers made with locally sourced, sustainable and organic ingredients, as well as chicken sandwiches, New York-style pastrami, bowls and salad.
HOTWORX, which offers virtual exercise programs in a sauna-style environment, also recently debuted at Somerset Square.
Tennessee-based Poag Shopping Centers purchased the 115,000-square-foot lifestyle shopping center, on Glastonbury Boulevard, in late 2023. At the time of the deal, Poag estimated the property was about 85% occupied, but warned that several leases were set to expire.
Poag said it would actively recruit new tenants that would bring new energy to the plaza.
The current occupancy rate of the property was not immediately available.
