A Glastonbury company faces a $61,000 fine for failing to file required chemical inventory reports, the federal environmental regulators say.
The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed the penalty against Highway Safety Corp., doing business as Connecticut Galvanizing.
Connecticut Galvanizing runs a hot-dip facility at 239 Commerce St. for galvanizing large metal objects such as guard rails, light posts and other highway equipment.
EPA said a routine inspection last December uncovered the alleged violation.
A Connecticut Galvanizing official did not immediately respond to a call Monday for comment.
