Glastonbury digital payments provider Payrailz announced Tuesday it has moved headquarters to a larger office in response to the company’s recent growth.
Payrailz, which launched in November, has relocated to 95 Glastonbury Blvd., to “accommodate the company’s growth strategy and momentum,” the company said.
Until last year, that spaced housed administrative offices for United Bank, which consolidated offices there and at nearby 45 Glastonbury Blvd. to about 68,000 square feet in downtown Hartford’s Goodwin Square skyscraper. United said at the time it planned to sub-lease its space in both Glastonbury buildings.
Payrailz CEO Fran Duggan said it moved to another office in town with more than double the size of its original space on Eastern Boulevard. The location, he said, provides opportunities to increase its workforce, develop an innovation lab and flexible options for client meetings and product demonstrations.
Duggan said the company currently employs 12 people in Glastonbury and nine others located in Florida, Virginia, Arizona and California.
The expansion, he said, signals Payrailz’s efforts to add new employees to the fledgling company and solidify its headquarters in Connecticut.
The company will be seeking Connecticut workers experienced in project management and client support in addition to skilled programmers.
Payrailz provides bill-payment and money-transfer services to banks and credit unions. The company said it was founded to help financial institutions offer a payment services to customers.
Duggan was also a co-founder of Payveris, a digital-payments vendor in Wethersfield, but is no longer associated with the company.
Payrailz said in December it raised $6 million from investors.
In addition to Payveris, other Connecticut fintech providers include NYMBUS in Glastonbury, and Windsor’s SS&C Technologies, serving Wall Street money-management firms, among others.
