Glastonbury-based engineering consulting firm GM2 Associates is expanding its footprint in southern New England.
In a statement, GM2 announced it has acquired Gordon R. Archibald Inc., a Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based company specializing in engineering and environmental consulting. The staff at Gordon R. Archibald will continue providing services from their existing office.
“GRA brings half a century of experience working with [the Rhode Island Department of Transportation], numerous municipalities, universities and many other state agencies,” said GM2 President and CEO Manish K. Gupta. “It is an honor to have this highly respected and well-established firm join GM2.”
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
According to its website, Gordon R. Archibald was formed in Providence in 1970 and relocated to Pawtucket in 1984. Its clients include the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the University of Rhode Island.
GM2 has around 150 employees and maintains offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Florida.
Late last year, the company absorbed Design Consultants Inc., a civil engineering, transportation consulting and land surveying firm based in Somerville, Massachusetts.
