Glastonbury design firm names new president, chairman of board

Glastonbury architectural firm SLAM has named two employees to its highest-ranking executive positions.

Gregory Coles was named president of the firm, and Terri Finucane has been named chairman of the board. Finucane is the firm’s first woman to serve as chairman.

Coles works in the company’s Los Angeles office, and Finucane is at the headquarters in Glastonbury. They replace outgoing President Robert Pulito and Chairman Richard Connell, who will stay on the board and be active in the day-to-day business.

As chairman of the board, Finucane leads the nine-member Board of Directors, the decision-making body for all strategic plans, and votes in the new president, a company spokeswoman said.

SLAM is growing and recently merged with Frank Webb Architects and acquired five CBRE | Heery Architectural Design practices. The company, whose mission is “creativity in design to enrich lives,” recently unveiled its 2025 strategic plan.

Finucane has spent her entire career in interior design at SLAM. With more than 35 years of experience, she created and grew the firm’s Interiors Studio. She’s currently the national market leader for the Corporate/Science & Technology practice and chair of the Human Resources Advisory Committee. As chairman, she will maintain those roles.

Coles has more than 30 years of experience as an architect and was president of the former Los Angeles-based architectural firm, Frank Webb Architects, for seven years. Before becoming SLAM’s president, he was market and design lead for the firm’s Los Angeles office.
