A Glastonbury cafe that has been expanding its footprint over the past six years is debuting its third location in the Wadsworth Atheneum.
Berkins on Main, one of three Greater Hartford cafes owned by Doug Barber and Andrea Hawkins, is expected to hold its grand opening Friday morning within the Wadsworth.
The cafe will feature items from local bakers including sweet treats, sandwiches and fresh salads and pastries. It will also feature rotating artwork displays that support diverse local artists.
Barber said the co-owners are committed to Greater Hartford and providing an atmosphere where customers can enjoy time with their friends as well as good food.
“Our community has given so much to us, and we are committed to paying it forward,” Barber said in a statement. “Our business expansion will allow us to create jobs and promote other entrepreneurs. We’re excited for this next chapter, and ready to continue to create spaces where people can share good food and drink, ideas and a sense of connectedness.”
Berkins on Main joins Berkins Blend Cafe, located at 1003 Hebron Ave. in Glastonbury, and Berkins on Oak, located at 21 Oak St. in Hartford. The cafes offer quick service breakfast, lunch, and catering options, the co-owners said.
