Getting on track is back

The Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice has yet to collect about $2.3 million in years-old bond forfeitures and $213,000 in drug asset forfeitures, according to a recent report from the state Auditors of Public Accounts. The justice division, which investigates and prosecutes criminal matters in the Superior Court, claimed it has improved collection in drug asset forfeitures and will begin work this fall on a new database to aid in bond forfeiture collection. In the report, auditors also noted the division did not keep timesheets or work schedules to track employee work hours.
