ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, a global technology company based in Germany, said this week it has opened a new quality excellence facility in Bloomfield.
Located at 340 West Newberry Road, the facility serves manufacturers in aerospace, automotive and electronics, as well as machining, medical, metalforming and power and energy, the company said.
The facility offers precision 2D and 3D measurement and inspection capabilities for manufacturers seeking to improve quality assurance. The facility also offers training programs and consultation to help manufacturers solve industry challenges, the company said.
The new leased property in Bloomfield consolidates smaller facilities Zeiss had operated in South Windsor and Boston, according to Victoria Lalama, visitor experience sustainability manager at the Bloomfield facility.
Lalama added that the Bloomfield location is approximately 12,000 square feet and is staffed with up to 10 employees.
Officials said the Connecticut site was chosen for its strong base of advanced manufacturing and aerospace innovation, as well as its proximity to major manufacturers across the Northeast.
