A shakeup in the finance department at Gerber Scientific Inc. has the South Windsor manufacturer’s controller resigning his post and his duties being picked up by the chief financial officer.
John J. Krawczynski resigned as vice president, chief accounting officer and corporate controller, effective Jan. 29. Krawczynski was assistant controller and controller from 2001 to 2005 at Lydall Inc., the Manchester maker of specialty woven thermal, acoustic and medical products.
Gerber did not say why Krawczynski is leaving.
His boss, Michael R. Elia, Gerber’s executive vice president and CFO, will take over the role as the company’s principal accounting officer, Gerber said.
Elia, 51, joined Gerber last April from Risk Management Solutions Inc., a California insurer where he was CFO for about three months. From 2004 to 2007, he was CFO of metal-products maker FastenTech Inc. in Minneapolis.
Gerber makes precision machinery for cutting textiles and making optical lenses.
