Tolland technology maker Gerber Scientific Inc. has given its global operations chief, Thomas Finn, the extra duty of being point man for its Asia Pacific market.
Finn, who joined Gerber as senior vice president of global operations a year ago from Lucent Technologies, where he ran that company’s Asia business, adds the post of president of Asia Pacific. He will be based in Shanghai, China.
He succeeds James Arthurs, who opened the door to Gerber in China in 1980 but is stepping down at year end, the company said.
Gerber Scientific, which recently relocated corporate headquarters from South Windsor, has more than 5,500 customers in the Asia region.
