Gengras Chevrolet property in East Hartford sells for $4.9M; dealership under new ownership

The nearly 4-acre property that hosted Gengras Chevrolet in East Hartford was sold for $4.9 million in December.

The property sale coincided with new ownership taking over the newly named East Hartford Chevrolet dealership, an official said.

The properties at 585 and 589 Connecticut Blvd. include a 26,882-square-foot dealership building completed in 1970 and subsequently renovated.

In a deed recorded Dec. 13, Gengras Motor Cars sold the properties to WDFC Real LLC, whose principal is Louis J. Wanat IV, of Glastonbury.

Attempts to reach Gengras and Wanat were not immediately successful Wednesday morning. 

The deal represents the latest property sale for Gengras. A year ago, Gengras Realty LLC sold its East Hartford collision center, at 630 Tolland St., to Crash Champions. 

In 2022, Gengras sold another former East Hartford dealership property at 300 Connecticut Blvd.
