Fairfield conglomerate General Electric received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Sustained Excellence award for the sixth straight year.
GE Appliances & Lighting offers 750 Energy Star products that increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“GE’s long term leadership and commitment to energy efficiency demonstrates the types of accomplishments that we can all achieve in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting our global environment,” said Elizabeth Craig, acting director of EPA’s Office of Atmospheric Programs, in a statement. “We look forward to their continued partnership and leadership.”
GE also released its 2010 annual report last week, showing its earnings had increased by 15 percent over 2009.
