Fairfield conglomerate General Electric has begun commercial operations at California’s newest power plant in Desert Hot Springs.
The 800-megawatt power plant is a Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. Sentinel Energy Project and will house commercial operation from CPV, GE, and Diamond Generating Corp.
GE Energy Financial Services owns 25 percent of the project.
Contracting firm Gemma Power Systems California, Inc. oversaw construction of the plant that, directly and indirectly, created over 350 jobs in the area.
