Shelton-based Hubbell announced late last year it would sell its lighting division to GE Current, a Daintree company, for $350 million cash.

Brands that are part of the deal include Architectural Area Lighting, Beacon, LiteControl, Kim Lighting, Columbia Lighting, Prescolite, Dual-Lite, Compass, Kurt Versen, Hubbell Outdoor Lighting, Hubbell Controls Solutions and Whiteway.

Hubbell’s lighting business is based in South Carolina.

The combined business will sell a range of lamps, fixtures and controls to signage, roadway, horticulture and transportation customers, GE Current said in a statement. The deal expands the company’s base of distribution partnerships and agent networks.

Manish Bhandari, president and CEO of Current, said, “Together, we have an unmatched breadth and depth of products, solutions and expertise that will yield greater innovation and service for our diverse customer base now, and into the future.”
